About Us

Fish, kangaroos, wolves and people live by the rule, “safety in numbers.” These groups together form schools, mobs, packs and teams. Many names describe this strategy, a necessity when facing life challenges. Sharing nature’s importance and value is not a challenge handled alone. Together, the Zoo’s Education staff creates a lively team. It includes:

Teresa Randall

Director of Zoo Education

Two of my passions are educating and inspiring.  I love coming to work everyday!  I get the chance to inspire visitors of all ages to care about nature by educating them.  Everyday is fun and unique and I truly feel like I am making a difference.

Amy Stephens

Sr. Naturalist Instructor & Zoo Historian

“Educating people at the zoo is like ‘breathing time.’ The future relies on lessons learned from the past, combined with present-day methodology. My hope is that all people and animals breathe easier because of our efforts.”

Todd Bridgewater

Naturalist Instructor & Web Administrator

“Few places allow the freedom to creatively explore and share your passion. At this zoo, today’s hope becomes tomorrow’s reality."

Andrea Beshara

Naturalist Instructor & Education Animal Coordinator

“My audience has sponge-like minds and infinite hearts. My coworkers have scales, feathers and fur. My classroom has red buds, rivers and red clay. There is no better way to educate, inspire and conserve. “

Melissa Kesler

Naturalist Instructor & Volunteer Coordinator

“I’ve learned one of the best ways to make an impact upon the world is to inspire appreciation of nature. By working at the Zoo, I share my passion with people ages 2-102 and plant seeds of change for the earth.”

Randelyon Phillips

Naturalist Instructor & Early Childhood Coordinator

“Being able to educate children to have an appreciation for nature and love for animals is a rewarding experience.”

Anna Hintz

Naturalist Instructor & Outreach Coordinator

“I enjoy connecting people of all ages to our natural world. My goal is to provide a memorable experience and to inspire others to protect and appreciate nature through education.”

Cliff Haslip

“I’ve been here 11 years! I like it! It’s nice place to work and I’ll still be here when you arrive!”
