Growing above and beyond...

Imagine a preschool where child development stems from personal connections with nature’s building blocks. That is who we are and what we do. At the zoo, children grow up with the knowledge, passion, and ability to save plants and animals.

Open enrollment for 2014-2015 begins April 15, 2014.  Space is limited, so contact Randelyon Phillips, Early Childhood Director, at 405.425.0257.

  • Must be 3 - 5 years on or before Sept. 1, 2013.
  • Classes run Sept. 3, 2013 - May 22, 2014.

Program Objectives

Social Skills:

The children will grow in self confidence, cooperation, concerns for others, and spirit of sharing.

Self Direction:

Activities and classroom management will promote listening and speaking; self discipline and decision making, self help skills, creative self-expression and independent work and play.

Language Skills:

Each child’s language skills will expand through stories, songs and by sharing real-life experiences. These experiences include meeting animals, visiting exhibits, and various activities that build vocabulary and stimulate oral expression.

Intellectual Growth:

Each child will engage in learning experiences through age-appropriate curriculum (i.e., music, art, science, social studies, etc).

Physical Development:

Through play, sensory, teacher-guided and self-directed activities, children develop fine and gross motor skills.

Environmental Awareness:

Appreciation for animals and nature begins with knowledge. Understanding how actions affect nature comes from zoo activities and nature play.
